Curriculum Vitae:
Maria João Cardoso has been appointed as Head Breast Surgeon at the Breast Unit of the Champalimaud Cancer Center in 2011. Her undergraduate and post graduate studies were undertaken at the Porto Faculty of Medicine. She dedicated her carrier to breast surgery and started her training in oncoplastic surgery at the Institut Gustave Roussy in France with Jean Yves Petit and Lise Barreu. From 2007 to 2010 she was Clinical Director of the S. João Hospital Breast Unit in Porto. From 2004-2010 member of the Ethics Committee at S. João Hospital, Porto. She holds a PhD in Medicine from University of Porto with the topic of objective evaluation of aesthetic results in breast cancer conservative treatment. Since then the majority of her research activity is related to this topic and the development of objective ways of evaluating aesthetic results in all forms of breast surgery, aiming at a better quality of life for patients. From 2006 to 2011 she was appointed Assistant Professor of the Department of Surgery of the Porto Faculty of Medicine. Dr MJ Cardoso is co-coordinator of the Breast Research group at INESC Porto with Professor Jaime Cardoso. Until 2012, she has published more than 20 papers on international journals as first author, with an average impact factor is 3.1 according to the JCR 2010. Until 2012, she has also co-authored more than 80 full communications in major international conferences. She is a member of the editorial board of The Breast journal and a reviewer of several topic international journals. One of her main interests is also quality of life of breast cancer patients and she founded in 2011 a Support Centre for Breast Cancer Patients, Mama Help (www.mamahelp.pt). She is a member of the board of the Portuguese Society of Senology.

Jaime S. Cardoso was born in Argivai, Povoa de Varzim, Portugal, in 1976. He graduated in Electrical and Computers Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia, Universidade do Porto, Portugal, in 1999. He received the M.Sc. degree in Mathematical Engineering in 2005 from Faculdade de Ciencias, Universidade do Porto, Portugal and the Ph.D. degree from the Faculdade de Engenharia, Universidade do Porto, in 2006.
He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Departamento de Engenharia Electrotecnica e de Computadores da Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto.
Since 1999, he is a researcher at INESC TEC, an R&D institute affiliated to Universidade do Porto.
His research interests include machine learning and image/video processing.

Hélder P. Oliveira was born in Porto, Portugal, in 1980. He graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2004, received the M.Sc. degree in Automation, Instrumentation and Control in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2013 at the Faculdade de Engenharia, Universidade do Porto, Portugal.
He is currently working as Senior Researcher at INESC TEC - Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Tecnologia e Ciência, a R&D institute affiliated to the Universidade do Porto, in the Visual Computing and Machine Intelligence Group (VCMI) and in the Breast Research Group.
He is also working at the Departamento de Ciências de Computadores of the Faculdade de Ciências of the Universidade do Porto as an Invited Assistant Professor. Between 2014 and 2016 he was contracted as Invited Assistant Professor at Departamento de Engenharia Informática of the Faculdade de Engenharia of the Universidade do Porto. Previously between 2008 and 2011 was working as Invited Assistant in the same Faculty and Department.
Hélder Oliveira is also Project Member in 2 funded research project related with Advanced Methodologies for Computer-Aided Detection and Diagnosis (BCCT.plan and NanoSTIMA). In the past was also project member in 3 other funded projects (one European and 2 National) and 3 other as research assistant.
He was the founded member and coordinator (between 2010 and 2013) of the Bio-related Image Processing and Analysis Student’s Group (BioStar) of the Faculdade de Engenharia, Universidade do Porto.
Since 2007 has co-authored 10 articles on international journals, all except two with impact factor, with an average value of 4.251, according to the Journal Citation Reports 2016. He has 1 patent pending, 2 book chapters and also 42 works in major refereed international conferences, 20 articles in national refereed conferences and participated in the creation of 3 public datasets. In total, these publications have attracted over 328 citations and correspond to an h-index of 11, using Harzing’s Publish or Perish application on August 7, 2017.
He is one of the mentors and belongs to the organizer committee of the VISion Understanding and Machine Intelligence (VISUM) summer school in 4 of the 5 editions of the event.
Hélder Oliveira is currently supervising 6 PhD Students and co-supervise 1 other. During his career supervised (or co-supervised) 19 MSc students.
Hélder Oliveira is member of Portuguese Association of Pattern Recognition (APRP) and was been elected for president of the fiscal council in 2017.
His research interests include medical image analysis, bio-image analysis, computer vision, image and video processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence and 3D modelling.

Inês Domingues graduated in Applied Mathematics by School of Sciences of University of Porto in 2004 and finished the Master in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering by Aveiro University in 2008. Currently she is a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at School of Engineering of University of Porto. Her main interest and research fields are medical image processing and machine learning.

Susy Costa, born in 1970, graduated from Oporto University in 1996 and underwent surgical training (residency in general surgery) at Hospital Sao Joao, Porto.
Since always, she demonstrated particular interest in breast pathology, working in collaboration with MJ Cardoso, Consultant Breast Surgeon, to define the parameters introduced in the artificial intelligence module and used to evaluate the aesthetical results in breast cancer conservative treatment.
In 2004, she attended the European Advanced Level Course in Breast Disease Management in Budapest and after completing her surgical training she began to differentiate towards a breast cancer specialist.
Since 2006 Breast Unit Member - Hospital Sao Joao.
INESC Porto Investigator - Group of Breast Research. At the present time, she integrates, as the main investigator the present investigation project entitled "Prediction of the aesthetic results in breast cancer conservative treatment" and is particularly interested in developing oncoplastic breast surgery.
